Bifocal lenses are ideal when you have nearsightedness and farsightedness, or either accompanied by astigmatism. At The Vision Gallery, Ltd we’re pleased to make it easy for you to enjoy corrected vision for two refractive concerns.
It isn’t difficult to recognize bifocal eyeglass lenses. The line that runs across the middle of them makes itself known. That line exists so that you have a target as to where to focus your eyes in order to experience the best possible vision. For example for nearsightedness and farsightedness, you look under the line for up close, and over the line for distance vision. It’s a simple system and has worked for a very long time to give people the high level of sharp, clear vision they want. At our Staten Island optical shop, we also have progressive lenses, which are sometimes called no-line bifocals. As you undoubtedly guess, there is no line there. And if you’re self-conscious about wearing bifocals or you are simply a private person, that is one way to get around it and still have improved vision. Furthermore, progressive lenses also give you excellent vision in the intermediate range between near and far. Standard bifocal lenses usually do not. There is one other way to have bifocal lenses without making it obvious. You can get bifocal contacts from our Staten Island optical shop. Not everyone prefers contact lenses, but they give you a more natural vision, don’t change your facial appearance, and do not hinder your side-to-side (peripheral) vision. If you’re not sure which of our bifocal lenses are best suited to your needs and preferences, let our eye doctor and optician help you to decide.
While you’re thinking about it, why not reach out to us right now and make an appointment to come to our Staten Island optical shop for an eye exam? You’ll find out if you need bifocals, and if so, which type you should get.
